Apricot Brown’s Workshop Series:

Apricot Brown’s Fashion Expressions Workshop: Combining crafty fashion design and language arts, this class will help children become the architects of their identity by creating looks that speak! The creators will coin a catchy “fashion label” that celebrates her/his identity and describe themselves. Using fabric, ribbons, trims, paint, etc. they will embellish their Fashion ID and item and present who they are- on the inside, via a live fashion and gallery-style art show.

ASK APRICOT?” Workshop:

Authoress Dana Drucker-Solano hosts a spirited read-along followed by a presentation and “Ask Apricot?” session discussing the themes in the book, including Colorism, Bullying, and Anti-bullying, Identity, and Diversity.

Authoress visit and reading, followed by a playful dress-up experience in Apricot’s supah-dupha portable closet, exploring the role fashion plays in discovering and crafting an identity while empowering confidence and self-expression!
